Photography Release Contract

Every client is required to sign the photography release contract. If the client is underage, a parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf. For sessions involving more than one person, each participant (or their legal guardian, if underage) must sign a separate contract. Contracts are signed during or immediately after the consultation, where session details are discussed. Consultations may be done via phone or a public meetup. A parent or guardian must attend the consultation for any underage client.


Image Storage and Backup

Images are stored securely for 30 days after final delivery. During this time, clients may request access if needed. After 30 days, images may be deleted from storage without notice. Clients are strongly encouraged to download and back up their galleries immediately upon delivery.


Photoshoot Bookings

Session requests can be submitted via this website or click here. For questions not answered in the FAQ, text (980) 939-6632. Phone calls will not be answered. You may also message via Instagram. Bookings are only confirmed after you are contacted by the photographer and the installment is received. For shared sessions (friends, siblings, etc., booking together), there is a $25 fee per additional person. Time and image limits will be split among all participants. One gallery will be delivered unless otherwise requested. All standard policies apply. Clients are expected to arrive prepared, including wearing appropriate outfits, grooming, and having any props or styling ready. JC Photography is not responsible for poor results due to lack of preparation. RAW or unedited images are never released. For group sessions, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure all participants are on time and prepared. Unprepared participants may result in reduced shooting time.


Editing & Delivery Time

Gallery turnaround is typically 1–2 weeks, depending on the season and session type. Rush Delivery is available for an additional fee. Note: I do not alter body shapes or physical features. Edits are limited to natural enhancements (lighting, skin tone, clarity, etc.). JC Photography retains full creative control over the editing process. Clients are not entitled to request specific edits beyond what is already included in the package. RAW/unedited files are never released under any circumstances.


Installments

The installment is non-refundable and required to secure your spot. It must be paid during or after the consultation via Apple Pay, PayPal, or Venmo. For underage clients, the installment may be paid by the client with verbal permission from a parent or legal guardian. The remaining balance of your session must be paid on the day of the photoshoot, before your session begins. Accepted payment methods include Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or cash. Final images will not be delivered until the full balance is received. Failure to pay the balance on time may result in delayed delivery or cancellation of the session without a refund. No-shows without communication are treated as cancellations, and no refunds or reschedules will be offered.


Rescheduling

Sessions may be rescheduled due to weather or emergencies, at the photographer’s discretion. In these cases, your installment will carry over to the new date.

JC Photography will determine if weather conditions require a reschedule. Overcast or mild weather will not automatically qualify unless it affects the quality of the shoot or poses safety concerns. Client-requested reschedules made less than 48 hours in advance (excluding emergencies) will require a $25 reschedule fee.


Cancellations

Your session will be canceled if:


  • An underage client attempts to forge a parent/guardian’s signature.


  • The contact information on the contract is invalid.


  • The installment is not received prior to the photoshoot.


If the client cancels for any reason, the installment is not refundable and cannot be applied to a future session. For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the shoot, a $35 last-minute cancellation fee is required.


Clarification on Rescheduling vs. Cancellation:

If the client is not canceling entirely and simply needs to move the session to a new date or time within 48 hours of the original session, a $25 reschedule fee applies instead. This does not apply to emergencies or weather-related issues. The $35 last-minute cancellation fee only applies when the client fully cancels and does not plan to reschedule.


Unforeseen Circumstances: Emergencies such as illness, accidents, or severe weather may be exempt from fees. Proof may be requested.


Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time to get the most out of your session. If part of a group session, all members must arrive promptly. Clients more than 30 minutes late without prior notice may be marked as a no-show. In this case, the session will be canceled, and the installment will be forfeited.


  • A 10% fee of the session cost applies after 15 minutes late.


  • If you are more than 30 minutes late, the session may need to be rescheduled, and additional fees may apply.


Refunds for Dissatisfaction

Due to the custom nature of photography, refunds are not provided once images are delivered. If you have a concern about your gallery, contact us within 3 days of delivery to discuss a possible solution. However, clients acknowledge that results are subjective and agree to trust the photographer's artistic vision and style. JC Photography reserves the right to decline re-edits or refunds based on creative differences.


Add-Ons

Add-ons must be selected and paid before the session. Options include:

  • Premium Retouching


  • Keepsake USB


  • Location Upgrade


  • Sneak Peek


  • Additional Person


Add-ons are subject to availability and must be confirmed before the shoot. Refunds are not available for unused add-ons once the session begins. Full details are listed on the Pricing Page.


Seasonal Discount

Sessions booked during May, June, and September receive an automatic 25% discount in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month (May), Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month (June), and Suicide Prevention Month (September).


Copyright & Usage

JC Photography retains full copyright of all images. Clients are granted personal use rights only, which include printing, sharing online (with credit), and using on personal profiles. Clients may not use images for commercial or promotional purposes (including business marketing, resale, or brand use) without a separate licensing agreement. Promotional use by JC Photography is permitted as outlined in the signed photography contract. This includes using images for the photographer’s portfolio, website, social media, or marketing materials. Public complaints, false reviews, or social media defamation without first addressing concerns directly with JC Photography may be treated as a breach of agreement.


Client Conduct

JC Photography reserves the right to cancel or terminate a session due to disrespectful, aggressive, or inappropriate behavior from any client, with no refund given.


Special Sessions

Model calls, TFP sessions, and other promotional offers may follow separate agreements and terms. These are by invitation only and are not subject to standard rates or policies. These sessions may have restrictions on image usage or delivery terms. All terms will be outlined before the session and must be agreed to in writing.

Additional Fees

These fees may apply depending on session details or special requests. They are separate from standard package pricing.


  • Travel Fee – $0.65 per mile beyond 25 miles from Salisbury, NC

Applies to sessions outside the local service area.


  • Premium Location Fee – Starting at $50

Covers permits, entry fees, or use of luxury/private spaces. (excludes client's homes)


  • Late Arrival Fee – 10% of session cost

If client's arrival is 15 minutes past the scheduled time.


  • Last Minute Cancellation Fee – $35

Applies to clients that cancel less than 48 hours, fee doesn't apply to emergencies


  • Reschedule Fee – $25 (under 48 hours)

If you need to reschedule your session with 48 hours (or less) notice


  • Gallery Reopening Fee – $20

To reopen a gallery after it’s been archived or expired.


  • Replacement USB Fee – $25

If a client requests a new USB after the original is delivered.
